Krousar Thmey provides deprived children with educational, social, emotional and material support. This assistance seeks to help children along the path towards fulfilment, while respecting their traditions and environment and helping them become responsible and independent adults. The aid provided does not foster privilege or welfare dependency, or set the child apart from his/her peers.

For Krousar Thmey, long-term development cannot take place without encouraging local partners to get involved and take more responsibility. This is why all of our projects are led by Cambodians: almost 400 of them work openly in the association every day. Four European volunteers assist them with issues of communication and cost analysis.

Sustainable aid, tailored to the needs on the ground

We expand our activities gradually to ensure that we are responding to real needs observed in the field. Our teams work with numerous local officials to ensure that our strategies are sustainable. Our aim is to be able to ensure that, over time, the Cambodian authorities will assume full responsibility for these programmes.

Responsible and rigourous financial management

Our finances are rigourously managed. We keep our administrative expenses at less than 4% per year, and our accounts are audited by KPMG at the end of each fiscal year. We have kept the trust of our internationally recognised partners for many years. The Cambodian Krousar Thmey foundation provides full financial aid to each child it supports in a way that protects the child’s anonymity.
