Internationally recognized for the impact of its programs, Krousar Thmey recently took another major step forward in its commitment to supporting people with visual impairments. The organization was honored to participate in the ICEVI (International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment) 2024 World Conference and General Assembly, held from November 14 to 17 in Ahmedabad, India. Themed “Inclusion in Diversity: Equity and Accessibility for All”, this prestigious event brought together experts, educators, and advocates from around the world to advance the cause of accessibility and inclusion for people with visual impairments.
ICEVI’s global conference is a key event, providing a platform for professionals to share research and best practice in inclusive education. With 400 delegates representing 61 countries, the conference not only highlighted the importance of inclusive education but also provided invaluable networking opportunities for those dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
As a long-standing partner of ICEVI, the Krousar Thmey organization has been honored with the privilege of representing Cambodia and having voting rights at its General Assembly. This recognition reflects the growing influence of Krousar Thmey’s work and underscores its vital role in advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, both in Cambodia and internationally.
“We are very proud to represent Cambodia at this important forum,” said Darong CHOUR, Executive Director of Krousar Thmey. This opportunity reaffirms our commitment to advancing the rights of visually impaired people and is a testament to the impact of the organization’s work. Through its active participation, Krousar Thmey continues, with your support, to make a real difference to the lives of blind children in Cambodia.
