LONG-TERM PROTECTION CENTERS
OBJECTIVE
Ensure a stable environment for the child and provide them with access to education, in order to facilitate their integration into Cambodian society.
PROJECT
The long-term protection centers are places of life on a human scale, both protective and open to the community, where children who have not been able to reintegrate their families after their stay in a temporary center are welcomed.
The children are housed, fed and listened to. They take part in the daily life of the center and attend public school like the other children.
Whenever possible, family bonds are maintained and encouraged. Regular assessments of the children’s family situation are conducted. If a significant improvement is noted and there are no risks for the children, they may leave the center to be reunited with their relatives.
ACTIVITIES
- Enrollment in public school
- Psychological support
- Sociability and respect of the Cambodian way of life
- Awareness of hygiene rules
- Family reintegration with support
